MEMORANDUM

Date: November 4, 2024

To: Susan Hsieh, Director of Finance
Dan Sodergren, City Attorney

From: Adam Nelkie, Assistant Public W orks Director

CC: Dan Villasenor, Chris Yi

Subject: SD Electric – As-needed maintenance and trade services agreement to
complete Ken Mercer Sports Park MCC Replacement.

The Ken Mercer Sports Park main electrical equipment failed in December 2022 shutting
down the lighting to the park and two City facilities. The temporary power was installed
under a time-and-material basis utilizing the City’s on-call electrical contractor, SD Electric
(SD), and continues to power the park. On October 3, 2023, the City Council approved a
third amendment with SD to increase the agreement to $295,000 for FY23/24 to complete
the work and created and funded Ken Mercer Sports Park Emergency Electrical Repairs,
CIP No. 23374. Delays associated with the manufacturing of electrical equipment have
pushed the work to just recently starting this month. The as -needed maintenance and
trade services agreement expired on June 30, 2024. To pay for the electrical equipment
and remaining work that was outlined in Amendment No. 3 the as-needed maintenance
and trade service agreement needs to be extended to December 2025.
Docusign Envelope ID: 2752ED72-4A96-4FA4-BC69-B6FC3FB87AF1
