City of Pleasanton Shelter Rebuild Capital Funding Budget Modification, FY 2024/ 25

TVH Shelter Rebuild Construction Costs Construction costs include grading, spoils removal, foundation,
asphalt/concrete flatwork & ADA exterior work.
TOTAL FY 2024/ 2025 FUNDING $250,000

Budget Narrative for Construction Costs: $250,000
Project Overview: This budget outlines the allocation of $250,000 for construction costs related to the
rebuild of Tri-Valley Haven’s domestic violence shelter. The shelter project will provide a safe and
supportive environment for survivors of domestic violence, ensuring accessibility, safety, and healing.
The funding will cover necessary construction elements, including grading, spoils removal, foundation,
asphalt/concrete flatwork, and ADA-compliant exterior work.
1. Grading and Site Preparation
Grading is necessary to prepare the site for construction. It involves leveling and contouring the land to
ensure proper drainage and foundation stability.
2. Spoils Removal
Spoils removal involves the safe and efficient removal of debris, excess soil, and any other materials that
are displaced during grading and excavation.
3. Foundation
The foundation is a critical component of the shelter rebuild. This allocation covers the cost of
excavation, concrete materials, reinforcement (such as rebar), formwork, and labor to pour and cure the
foundation.
4. Asphalt/Concrete Flatwork
Flatwork includes all asphalt and concrete paving necessary for the shelter's exterior surfaces, such as
driveways, parking areas, walkways, and outdoor recreation spaces.
5. ADA Exterior Work
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance is critical to ensure that all residents and visitors,
regardless of physical ability, can access the shelter.
Total Construction Costs: $250,000
This budget will help Tri-Valley Haven to rebuild its domestic violence shelter. The funding will be
managed efficiently to maximize impact and ensure all construction work meets local building codes and
ADA standards.
Docusign Envelope ID: 543360AE-9037-4485-98F8-A5586208A412
