We are writing to inform you of a
rate adjustment for our forensic phlebotomy services, effective August 1, 2024, in alignment with our
new contract with Alameda County.
Over the past few years, we have strived to maintain competitive pricing while providing high-quality and
reliable forensic services. However, due to increased operational costs and the need to continue offering
the best possible service, we find it necessary to adjust our rates accordingly.
The new rates will be as follows:
●Blood Withdrawal:$250 per withdrawal
●Dry Run:$250 per occurrence
●Sexual Assault Examination:$850 per examination
The requested services require a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician to be available on a standby
on-call basis, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The technician must be able to respond within 60
minutes to various locations in Alameda County when summoned. To maintain such a level of readiness
and expertise, we must ensure that our technicians are fully compliant with all relevant laws, including
those regulating blood alcohol tests, as outlined in Vehicle Code Section 23158.
The comprehensive nature of this service demands a full-year commitment, amounting to 8760 hours,
and requires that technicians be compensated at least at the minimum wage for standby hours as
mandated by the County of Alameda and the State of California for healthcare workers (SB 525).
BayPLS's financial responsibilities go far beyond hourly wages. We are committed to providing employee
benefits, including mandatory sick days (5 per year in California starting 2024), 401k contributions, and
other standard benefits per State requirements. These requirements significantly contribute to our
Exhibit B
L ..{jl'---
Ba PLS '"
Y www.BayPLS.com
Docusign Envelope ID: EAC72FF0-2F63-4ADB-9A2E-1E009CC6908F
