Give consideration to enhanced cooperation with the <br />PUSD regarding joint use of tennis courts and an option for meeting the future need <br /> One additional baseball field <br /> Emphasize opportunities for synthetic turf at new or existing facilities <br /> <br />Non‐Facility Based Recommendations to Meet Current and Future Demand <br /> Consider revisions to the master City/PUSD joint use agreement to better utilize common <br />opportunities for both <br /> Increase cooperation with local services clubs for park maintenance <br /> Pursue additional public‐private partnership to provide recreational programs <br /> Develop plans to consolidate the Community Services Department in a single facility <br /> Emphasize opportunities for improved trail connectivity <br /> Encourage more onsite recreational facilities within new residential development <br /> <br />Park Facility Maintenance Items <br /> Improve irrigation systems to increase water conservation efforts <br /> Parking lot paving improvements <br /> Resurfacing basketball courts, including those at Muirwood Community Park, Tawny, Del Prado Park, <br />Nielsen Park and Meadows Park <br /> Improve trails signage at various trails including Main Street Green <br /> Add ADA compliant children play equipment including new equipment at Woodthrush Park <br /> Add benches and picnic tables at various parks including Oakhill Park <br /> Identify funds for improvements and upgrades to the locker room at Dolores Bengtson Aquatic <br />Center <br /> Identification of funds to develop an on‐going minor maintenance renovation program for actively <br />used facilities that display deferred maintenance issues <br /> <br />Funding and Implementation Recommendations <br /> <br />Due to the overall scope of the improvements outlined in the Master Plan it does not include specific or <br />overall cost estimates. However, Section Five identifies funding options which include traditional City <br />sources such as development impact fees, the General Fund, grants and development agreements with <br />private developers as well as alternative funding options including non‐profit foundations, bonds, <br />Certificates of Participation, user fees, corporate sponsorships, adopt a park programs, special <br />assessment districts. <br /> <br />Ultimately, while the City has significant success with financing capital expansion and renovation, the <br />recommendation in this Master Plan will require prioritization and an extended time frame to complete. <br />
