<br /> <br />2-24 <br />Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Master Plan <br />Section Two – Recreation Facility Needs Assessment 2014 <br /> <br />2.9.2 Program Needs Summary <br /> <br />Exhibit 2.9‐2 is also based on qualitative and quantitative data collected during the Master Plan process. <br />This Exhibit shows that there are limited gaps in programming and staff has responded well to meeting <br />the program interests of the community. However, it is timely to review programs offerings; eliminate <br />any duplication, focus on core program, and strengthen existing program offerings to respond to <br />changing demographics and recreation preferences. As the community demographics are constantly <br />changing, ensuring programs are convenient and affordable for residents will demand staff’s continual <br />attention and resources. <br /> <br />Exhibit 2.9‐2 Program/Services Needs Summary <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton <br />Programs/Services Needs Summary <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Identified Recreation Service Need <br />Needs Identification Tools <br />QUAN‐ <br />TITATIVE (x 2) <br />QUALITATIVE ( X 1) <br /> <br />Re <br />s <br />i <br />d <br />e <br />n <br />t <br /> Te <br />l <br />e <br />p <br />h <br />o <br />n <br />e <br /> Su <br />r <br />v <br />e <br />y <br /> <br />(h <br />i <br />g <br />h <br /> pa <br />r <br />t <br />i <br />c <br />i <br />p <br />a <br />t <br />i <br />o <br />n <br /> –1 <br />0 <br />% <br />+ <br />) <br /> <br />St <br />a <br />k <br />e <br />h <br />o <br />l <br />d <br />e <br />r <br /> /K <br />e <br />y <br /> <br />In <br />f <br />o <br />r <br />m <br />a <br />n <br />t <br /> In <br />t <br />e <br />r <br />v <br />i <br />e <br />w <br />s <br /> <br />Re <br />s <br />i <br />d <br />e <br />n <br />t <br /> Te <br />l <br />e <br />p <br />h <br />o <br />n <br />e <br /> Su <br />r <br />v <br />e <br />y <br /> <br />– De <br />s <br />i <br />r <br />e <br /> <br />Co <br />m <br />m <br />u <br />n <br />i <br />t <br />y <br /> Wo <br />r <br />k <br />s <br />h <br />o <br />p <br /> <br />Co <br />m <br />m <br />u <br />n <br />i <br />t <br />y <br /> Or <br />g <br />a <br />n <br />i <br />z <br />a <br />t <br />i <br />o <br />n <br /> <br />Qu <br />e <br />s <br />t <br />i <br />o <br />n <br />n <br />a <br />i <br />r <br />e <br /> <br />Sp <br />o <br />r <br />t <br />s <br /> Or <br />g <br />a <br />n <br />i <br />z <br />a <br />t <br />i <br />o <br />n <br /> <br />Qu <br />e <br />s <br />t <br />i <br />o <br />n <br />n <br />a <br />i <br />r <br />e <br /> <br />Re <br />c <br />r <br />e <br />a <br />t <br />i <br />o <br />n <br /> Tr <br />e <br />n <br />d <br />s <br /> <br />Pr <br />o <br />g <br />r <br />a <br />m <br /> Ne <br />e <br />d <br />s <br /> An <br />a <br />l <br />y <br />s <br />i <br />s <br /> <br />To <br />t <br />a <br />l <br /> # of <br /> To <br />o <br />l <br />s <br /> th <br />a <br />t <br /> <br />Id <br />e <br />n <br />t <br />i <br />f <br />i <br />e <br />d <br /> <br />Ne <br />e <br />d <br /> <br />Activities / Programs for Adults 1 1 <br />Activities / Programs for Seniors 2 1 1 1 5 <br />Activities / Programs for Youth/Teens 1 1 1 3 <br />Activities / Programs for Developmentally <br />Disabled <br />1 1 <br />Activities / Programs ‐ Intergenerational 1 1 <br />Activities / Programs ‐ Non‐Sports 1 1 <br />Activities / Programs for Families 1 1 <br />Arts & Crafts 1 1 1 3 <br />Basketball 1 1 <br />Child Care (before & after school care) 1 1 <br />Concerts 1 1 <br />Cooking Classes 1 1 <br />Fitness Classes 1 1 2 <br />Healthy Living Educational Programs 1 1 <br />Lacrosse 1 1 <br />Music 1 1 <br />Nature / Science Programs 1 1 <br />Performing Arts Programs 2 1 1 4 <br />Personal Development Classes 1 1 <br />Reading / Writing Programs 1 1 <br />Soccer 2 1 3 <br />Swimming Classes / Programs 2 1 3 <br />Tennis Lessons 1 1 <br />Volunteer Opportunities / Organization 1 1
