PUSD ADULT & CAREER EDUCATION PROGRAM

INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT (PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ADULT & CAREER EDUCATION PROGRAM) THIS INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT (“Agreement”) is made and entered into July 1, 2024, between the CITY OF PLEASANTON (“City”) and the PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (“District”). Recitals WHEREAS, the District operates the Adult & Career Education Department (the “Department”), which provides in its curriculum a paid internship program; and WHEREAS, City staff maintain park and recreation facilities (the “Parks Maintenance Division”), which has been approached by Department to host an intern of the Department enrolled in the District’s Adult & Career Education Department program for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and seeks in-person internship hours with the Parks Maintenance Division to receive work experience; and WHEREAS, the Parks Maintenance Division is willing to allow the Intern to join a Parks Maintenance Division crew in the Department’s 2024-2025 program year for in-person internship hours to receive payments for work from the Pleasanton Unified School District as part of a District paid internship program for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions hereinafter contained, the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. PERIOD OF AGREEMENT This Agreement shall be effective as of the date first written above and shall continue in effect until June 30, 2025, while the assigned Intern is enrolled in the District’s Adult & Career Education Department. 2. GENERAL OBLIGATIONS OF PUSD The Department shall: (a) designate Jamie Renton at email jrenton@pleasantonusd.net and phone number 925-596-3914 as the contact person at the District to answer Parks Maintenance Division staff’s questions about this Agreement; (b) confirm with the Parks Maintenance Division that Intern is enrolled at the District. (c) confirm with the Parks Maintenance Division, and provide documentation, that Intern has completed an application with Department stating whether the Intern has been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor set forth in California Public Resources Code §5164, and Department has obtained a Department of Justice record of Intern to verify that Intern has not been convicted of any offense specified in California Public Resources Code §5164. (d) advise the Parks Maintenance Division in writing of the number of hours that Intern is required to have in-person internship hours working with the Parks Maintenance Division each week of the semester; (e) give the Parks Maintenance Division any necessary forms required by the 1 PUSD CONTRACT# C25-198RATIFIED BY BOARD: 10/10/2024 Docusign Envelope ID: 14B212BA-77EB-4047-BFDE-6088FEB5E4FB
