Page 5 of 7 <br />$40,000, the commission recommended funding only one of the two Go Green Initiative <br />projects. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONS' ACTIONS <br />Human Services Commission <br />On March 6, 2024, the commission approved the funding recommendations for human <br />services programs and applications funded through CDBG and from the General Fund. <br />(Minutes provided as Attachment 6.) <br /> <br />Housing Commission <br />On March 21, 2024, the commission approved the funding recommendations for housing <br />programs and applications eligible for funding from the City’s LIHF and Federal HOME funds. <br />(Draft minutes provided as Attachment 7.) <br /> <br />Civic Arts Commission <br />On March 4, 2024, the commission approved the funding recommendations for arts activities <br />for Pleasanton residents. (Minutes provided as Attachment 8.) <br /> <br />Youth Commission <br />On March 13, 2024, the commission approved the funding recommendations for youth <br />programs. (Minutes provided as Attachment 9.) <br /> <br />EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY <br />The HHSG program provides grant funds to nonprofit agencies to provide direct programs and <br />services to benefit low-income Pleasanton residents, those who are unhoused or at risk to <br />become unhoused, and those who have special needs. Providing these grant funds helps <br />those most vulnerable populations to remain part of the Pleasanton community and provides <br />them with much needed support and assistance. <br /> <br />The City also provides the Community Grant Program for nonprofit organizations serving <br />Pleasanton residents in the areas of arts, culture, and youth programs to enhance the quality <br />of life in Pleasanton. One of the five funding criteria established by the Civic Arts Commission <br />is to provide equitable access to the arts for the Pleasanton community. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />Applicant agencies were notified of this City Council meeting, invited to attend, and <br />encouraged to speak regarding their financial requests. The HHSG grants process was widely <br />publicized with a virtual Zoom application workshop held on December 6, 2023, in <br />collaboration with staff from the cities of Dublin and Livermore. HHSG and CG applications for <br />FY2024/25 funding were solicited from December 1, 2023 through January 19, 2024. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This action advances multiple strategies in the ONE Pleasanton Strategic Plan goal of Building <br />a Community Where Everyone Belongs, including: Strategy 1 – Apply strategies from the <br />City’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Action Plan to increase equitable access to City <br />programs and services for the Community; Strategy 3 – Implement high priority items from the <br />Library and Recreation Strategic Plan to continue to deliver activities and programs that meet <br />the needs and interests of the community; Strategy 6 - Implement the Housing Element and <br />Page 352 of 448 <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 33CB29C8-7F00-4973-826F-FE9B0CEAAEFB
