Completing of the water and sewer connection fee study <br />will provide information intended to support the fiscal sustainability of the City's enterprise <br />funds. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />This RFQ was posted on the City's website and Bidnet Direct. Furthermore, as part of the rate <br />study process, a number of Pleasanton Water Advisory Group and City Council meetings will <br />be conducted to receive community feedback. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this action advances the ONE Pleasanton strategic plan goal of Funding our <br />Future, Strategy 3 - Evaluate and update enterprise revenue sources, including utility rates, <br />and connection and user fees to address growth and meet current needs. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The current budget in the Water Operating Fund (420) includes $80,000 for both the <br />connection fee and water rate studies, and the Sewer Operating Fund (430) includes $50,000. <br />Staff recommends the City Council approve budget amendments to increase the professional <br />services appropriation by $35,000 for a new total of $115,000 in the Water Operating Fund and <br />$45,000 for a new total of $95,000 in the Sewer Operating Fund to fund this study. <br />Approximately 90 percent of the total contract amount will be spent in FY 2024/25.
