Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />In addressing Outreach Goal #3, commissioners discussed specific strategies and tools to <br />support outreach at library and community events at the April 4, 2024 meeting. The use of <br />visual tools such as library program flyers and tablets to introduce community members to <br />services featured on the library website, as well as the sharing of commissioners’ own <br />experiences and favorite library resources, were discussed. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />To assist in moving the Outreach Purpose and Outreach Goal #3 to implementation, the <br />Commission Chair and Vice Chair have requested a standing agenda item for the Library <br />Commission to discuss specific outreach opportunities during each meeting. To assist in the <br />discussion, the Library Program Calendar for August 2024 (Attachment 1) is provided. <br />Commissioners may choose to select a program to conduct outreach or to promote through <br />their community groups and social media connections. <br /> <br />EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY <br />Expanding outreach efforts enhances equity by sharing the free resources of the library with a <br />broader audience at different types of library programs each month. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />No outreach has been done in advance of this item. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This action advances the following Citywide goals and strategies: <br /> <br />ONE Pleasanton Citywide Strategic Plan <br />• Building a Community Where Everyone Belongs, Strategy 3 – Implement high priority <br />items from the Library and Recreation Strategic Plan to continue to deliver activities and <br />programs that meet the needs and interests of the community. <br />o Library and Recreation Strategic Plan <br />▪ Goal B.
