In anticipation of project delivery, and with the need to align with funding and staffing
resources, staff is proposing that the Civic Arts Commission provide prioritization of projects for
FY 2024/25.

RECOMMENDATION
Review and provide feedback on art project priorities for Fiscal Year 2024/25.

BACKGROUND
Over the past five years the City has acquired two new permanent public art pieces—Nurturing
Open Space in 2020 and Evantide in 2021—and has also completed substantial maintenance
to Ryan’s Bench which is now Ryan’s Stones. The total amount spent over the past five years
is $46,899.

Given that commissioners will be working from a new set of adopted Municipal Code duties for
the Civic Arts Commission that outlines an annual workplan, staff aims to initiate discussions
on priority areas to inform the forthcoming workplan process slated to commence at the start of
2025.

DISCUSSION
To provide information to commissioners on each of the Art Project Priorities under
consideration, a table of the individual projects and details on each are provided below. The
Commission is asked to prioritize projects for FY 2024/25, with a numeric rating of one
through four.
