Resolution No. 2024-019 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> A. The military equipment identified in the Military Equipment Use Policy is necessary <br /> because there is no reasonable alternative that can achieve the same objective of officer and <br /> civilian safety; and <br /> B. The Military Equipment Use Policy will safeguard the public's welfare, safety, civil <br /> rights, and civil liberties; and <br /> C. The equipment described in the Military Equipment Use Policy is reasonably cost <br /> effective compared to available alternatives that can achieve the same objective of officer and <br /> civilian safety; and <br /> D. Prior military equipment use complied with the applicable equipment use policy <br /> (which included equipment now defined as military equipment) that was in effect at the time, or if <br /> prior users did not comply with the accompanying military equipment use policy, corrective action <br /> has been taken to remedy nonconforming uses and ensure future compliance. <br /> SECTION 3. The City Council renews the Military Equipment Use Policy. <br /> SECTION 4. City Clerk shall certify the passage of this resolution an enter it into the <br /> book of original resolutions. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on April 16, 2024. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of April <br /> 2024, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Jo lyn Kw ng, ity Clerk <br /> APPROVED A TO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
