Page 4 of 4 b. DEXBGI will charge the current IRS Standard Mileage Rate per mile for necessary travel during investigations. The travel included is for neighborhood checks, contacts of employers, etc. Reimbursement will be sought at the conclusion of the investigation. This mileage reimbursement rate is an industry standard. c. DEXBGI has the discretion to charge for itemized expenses. Examples would include, but are not limited to, shipping and handling of documents, copies of case files, and parking or bridge tolls. d. Cost of travel, lodging and per diem, of any significant distance deemed necessary for completion of background would be the responsibility of the Pleasanton Police Department. Travel will not be done without prior permission of the Pleasanton Police Department. e. DEX Background Investigations has the option to apply a n Administrative Fee of $500 up to $1500. The fee may be applied for expenses exceeding industry standards (examples may include, but are not limited to: excessive insurance demands, excessive business license fees, and other unusual expenses that are not commiserate with the current standards). This Administrative Fee is intended to be a 1-time fee to offset exorbitant costs as indicated above and at the start and/or renewal of the contract. f. Payment for services rendered is expected within 30 days of invoice. If payment exceeds 30 days without notice, or in any event 45 days, DEXBGI has the option to impose an Administrative Fee. The fee will not exceed $500, and will only be imposed after 45 days past the invoice date. g. If the applicant cancels (or fails to show) for any reason for a scheduled interview with less than 24-hour notice, an Administrative Fee of $500 will apply. Insurance If agreed upon, DEX Background Investigations will provide a copy of the Certificate of Liability Insurance, POST certificates, and the Private Investigator License.
