City staff understands that most organizations are supported by volunteer <br />coaches and staff, and practices may be canceled unexpectedly due to various <br />conflicts. Potential givebacks are identified through consistent non-use of fields across a <br />block of days, times, and/or fields. <br />Future Audits <br />Staff will resume audits beginning April through May for spring season sports and <br />October through November for fall season sports. Through ongoing discussion and <br />collaboration, staff will continue to work with co-sponsored organizations to enhance <br />sports field transparency, promote efficiency, and build collaboration. <br /> <br />EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY <br />The sports field allocation process strives to promote maximum use of and equitable <br />access to City fields and sports facilities by all community members. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />Staff met with individual co-sponsored sports organizations to review the format and the <br />audits. The audits were also emailed to each co-sponsored organization for review, <br />feedback, and discussion of potential givebacks. Staff also reviewed the audit process <br />at the October 9, 2023 Co-Sponsor User Group Meeting. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This action advances the following Citywide goals and strategies: <br /> <br />ONE Pleasanton Citywide Strategic Plan <br />• Building A Community Where Everyone Belongs, Strategy 3 - Implement high- <br />priority items from the Library and Recreation Strategic Plan to continue to <br />deliver activities and programs that meet the needs and interests of the <br />community. <br />o Library and Recreation Strategic Plan <br />• Goal B Community Engagement, Customer Service and <br />Communication, Strategy 12 - Identify opportunities for increasing <br />our partnerships with City departments, local agencies, businesses <br />and organizations to extend the reach of the department to meet <br />community needs and interests. <br />• Investing In Our Environment, Strategy 7 - Continue to invest in <br />parks, bicycle, and pedestrian infrastructure, and public art to <br />improve traffic safety, promote climate resilience, and increase <br />equitable access to cultural and recreational opportunities <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are budgeted for Recreation part-time personnel in account #00150300-40003. <br /> <br />An increase in revenue from field rentals by other community groups is expected. The <br />revenue amount is unknown at this time.
