“Sewer & Storm Flushing & CCTV Services” <br />Bid #OSD 2021-603 <br />Rate Sheet <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />show the pipe conditions due to inadequate clean-up or are of such poor quality that the Engineer is unable <br />to evaluate the condition of the sewer/storm or locate sewer service connections, the CONTRACTOR <br />shall re-televise that section of the pipe at CONTRACTOR'S expense. <br />6.All water used in conjunction with the project improvements shall be metered and backflow <br />protected by a City owned device: (Potable or Recycled Device) <br />a.CONTRACTOR shall put in an application for a hydrant meter with the City of Pleasanton <br />Customer Service Center. The deposit and monthly water fees will be waived. The contractor will <br />be back charged for any damages that occur to the device. <br />b.The hydrant meter device is to be only used within the City of Pleasanton for use within <br />this contract. Any use outside of this contract without permission would result in fees and possible <br />termination of this contract. <br />7.The CONTRACTOR shall remove all sludge, dirt, sand, rocks, roots, grease and other solid or <br />semisolid material resulting from the cleaning operation at the downstream manhole of the section being <br />cleaned. Procedure for removing roots may include the use of mechanical equipment such as rodding <br />machines and bucket machines using root cutters and porcupines. Passing material from manhole section <br />to manhole section which could cause line stoppages, accumulations of sand in wet wells, or damage <br />pumping equipment, shall not be permitted. Chemical root treatment shall not be used by the <br />CONTRACTOR. <br />8.If the CONTRACTOR encounters a surcharging manhole (flow exceeds the diameter of the sewer <br />or storm pipe), the CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the City of Pleasanton’s Customer Service <br />Center at (925-931-5500) and provide information on the location and cause of the blockage. <br />9.The CONTRACTOR shall prevent contract operations from causing a stoppage or overflow. In <br />the event of a stoppage or overflow, the CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the City of Pleasanton’s <br />Customer Service Center at (925-931-5500) The CONTRACTOR shall remove the stoppage and contain <br />and mitigate the overflow. Overflows shall be mitigated to the City’s standards including property damage <br />overflows that shall require cleaning and restoration. All costs for damages occasioned by the overflow <br />are the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br />10.The CONTRACTOR shall use a 180-degree rotating head color camera for pipe sizes 6 inch and <br />larger in diameter. The color camera shall be operative under 100 percent humidity conditions in the sewer <br />or storm. The center of the camera lens shall be at or above the spring line of the sewer/storm being <br />televised. The camera and ancillary equipment shall not block the sewage flow at any time. In cases where <br />it will not be possible to remove a trapped camera by excavation of a sewer or storm line, a tag line shall <br />be attached to each end of the camera to allow the camera to be pulled out from either end. If the camera <br />gets stuck in the sewer or storm pipeline, the CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all costs involved <br />in extracting it and shall extract the equipment in a timely manner to avoid interruption to sewer or storm <br />flow. The CONTRACTOR shall call the City of Pleasanton’s Customer Service Center at (925-931-5500) <br />to notify of the situation. <br />11.Lighting and camera quality shall be suitable to allow a clear in-focus picture for a minimum of <br />six lineal feet of the entire inside periphery of the sewer/storm pipe.
