• A team of Parks staff line trimmed tall grass away from the Callippe Preserve
Trail from the driving range to Inspiration Terrace. In all 1.36 miles of trail were
addressed
• The Callippe Open Space solar water pump station was renovated by Freitas
Rangeland Improvements to a modern-style pump which will increase the water
supply to the 5000-gallon reservoir tank at the top of the property. The new
pump is more reliable and will reduce the overall maintenance costs. The solar
pump provides water for cattle grazing on the Callippe Preserve property, which
is located above Clubhouse Dr.

Callippe Preserve Golf Course:

• A new decorative windmill was installed near the green of hole number 15. The
new windmill replaces the original windmill that blew over approximately two
years ago. The windmill is popular for wedding photos. The project was managed
by the Operations and Maintenance Manager, David Luera.

Bonde Ranch Open Space:

• Tree work began in the Bonde Ranch open space on November 13 th and the
project was completed on November 30th. The project was competitively bid on
with A Plus Tree Service selected as the lowest responsive bidder. In all, 24
eucalyptus trees were removed, 10 trees were pruned, and one stump was
removed. The trees were in the eucalyptus tree windrow behind the homes in the
Ventana Hills neighborhood. The trees were removed either due to poor
structure, decline, evidence of disease, or a combination thereof. The decision to
remove the trees was not made lightly and the list was determined through
collaboration with a consulting arborist and a certified arborist city staff member.

Division Street Bridge Tree Work:

• A tree contractor completed the removal of two trees that were jeopardizing the
Division Street bridge. One tree was rubbing on conduits running on the side of
the bridge and the other was a dead tree that could impact the bridge if it were to
fall. The tree work required the closure of the bridge for a day and a crane was
used for the removals.

First Street Railroad Bridge Debris Jam:

• Zone 7 notified the City in late September about a large jam of logs and debris
piled up against the old railroad bridge that runs parallel to First Street. A tree
contractor with specialized equipment was hired to remove the debris from this
difficult-to-access site. The debris removal was completed in October before
winter rains. In all, approximately 150 cubic yards of debris was hauled out.
