SCOPE OF WORK: <br />Proposal shall include the following: <br />1. Remove 22 existing trees located at Ken Mercer Sports Park located at 5800 Parkside <br />Drive. All proposed trees are currently marked with metal identification disk with <br />numbers 1- 22 and marked with orange spray paint. These trees consist of 2- Weeping <br />Willows, 5- Raywood Ash, 1- Blue Gum Eucalyptus, and 14- Coast Redwoods. <br />2. Remove 12 existing trees located at Tennis Community Park located at 5801 Valley <br />Avenue. All proposed trees are currently marked with metal identification disk with <br />numbers 51 through 62 and marked with orange spray paint. These trees consist of 11- <br />Coast Redwoods and 1- Aleppo Pine. <br />3. Stump grind 22 existing stumps located at Ken Mercer Sports Park. The stump locations <br />coincide with the proposed tree removals. <br />4. Stump grind 12 existing stumps located at Tennis Community Park. The stump locations <br />coincide with the proposed tree removals. <br />5. Tree removals shall be made in accordance with standards set forth by the arboricultural <br />industry as specified in ANZI Z133. <br />6. All stump grindings shall be a minimum of 3’ from outer most edge of existing tree <br />stump and minimum 24” in depth. All roots and stump greater than 1” shall be <br />completely removed even if it extends past the initial 3’. All stump grinding material <br />shall be left outside the hole, piled up and not backfilled. City of Pleasanton staff will <br />secure the site, remove the debris, and backfill the hole with native soil. <br />Special Conditions: <br />The contractor will be working in high use public parks. The facilities provide use for casual <br />park users and youth and adult sports leagues. All work zones shall be safely secured with cones <br />and traffic highfliers to notify in advance of work zones. All workers shall wear all required <br />safety gear with the company logo clearly visible. <br />All work will be completed between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday. <br />No work shall commence on Holidays. <br />All brush can be chipped using a well-maintained brush chipper with sharp cutting knives. If the <br />woodchipper produces a good quality chip, the City Parks staff will reuse this wood chip. If the <br />chipper is not working correctly and the wood chips are deemed unusable, all wood chips shall <br />be hauled off site. All quality wood chips can be dumped in the parking lot at both park <br />locations. A determined location will be chosen prior to the start of work. Wood, or unchipped <br />material shall be hauled off-site to an appropriate green waste recycling facility or urban wood <br />recycling facility. <br /> <br />Chosen contractor shall take all necessary precautions to eliminate damage to existing trees, <br />fencing, and concrete.
