Phase 2 Improvements <br /> Replace Icehouse with: <br /> Restroom: $550,000 - $600,000 <br /> Playground: $350,000 - $400,000 <br /> Lawn and seating: $100,000 - $125,000 <br /> Regional trail: $200,000 - $250,000 <br /> Parking lot/landscape (North of Lions Wayside): $500,000 - $600,000 <br /> Callander Associates Landscape Architecture, Inc., one of the City's on-call landscape <br /> architectural consultants, developed the conceptual renovation plans as an on-call task. <br /> Staff recommends the City Council approve the professional services agreement with <br /> Callander Associates Landscape Architecture, Inc. for the not-to-exceed amount of <br /> $115,000 for construction documents services for the proposed renovations for the <br /> Lions Wayside and Delucchi Park Project, CIP No. 06716 (Attachment 3) along with a <br /> design contingency of$25,000 for the project. <br /> Schedule <br /> The design process will be completed in the next six to nine months. Construction is <br /> tentatively scheduled to begin upon completion of the summer 2024 concert series, with <br /> completion expected before the 2025 concert series begins. The summer 2024 concerts <br /> will take place utilizing the same stage setup as the 2023 concert series. <br /> Notifications <br /> Notifications regarding the Lions Wayside and Delucchi Parks agenda item were sent <br /> out to all property owners and tenants within 1,000 feet of the parks, the concepts and <br /> the City Council meeting date were posted on the City's website and at <br /> www.waysidedelucchi.com, and Staff discussed the proposed improvements with the <br /> Pleasanton Downtown Association and is scheduled to make a presentation to them on <br /> Tuesday, October 10. <br /> Conclusion <br /> Staff recommends park design Concept A and bandstand style Option A and requests <br /> the City Council's prioritization of the park's Phase 2 improvements that cannot be <br /> completed within the existing budget. Concept A best reflects the public's input, <br /> provides the park's largest viewing area, and engages the plaza areas at the Firehouse <br /> Arts Center. Bandstand style Option A complements the Firehouse Arts Center design <br /> and utilizes similar architectural elements throughout the transportation corridor. <br /> Notably, elements from Concepts A and B can be used interchangeably with either <br /> overall concept. <br /> Page 8 of 9 <br />
