CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> October 17, 2023 <br /> Public Works <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY GRADETECH, INC. <br /> FOR THE DOWNTOWN TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR PARKING LOT <br /> PROJECT, CIP NO. 17448 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Downtown Transportation Corridor Parking Lot Project replaced the 60-stall gravel <br /> parking lot in the transportation corridor between Bernal Avenue and Abbie Street with a <br /> 139-stall paved parking lot and a 13-foot-wide multi-use concrete path. The adjacent <br /> Centennial Towers Plaza and Civic Park were also renovated as part of this project. The <br /> City Council awarded this construction contract to GradeTech, Inc. on April 21, 2021. <br /> Construction of the project is complete to the satisfaction of the Director of Public <br /> Works, and staff recommends the City Council accept the project as complete. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the Downtown Transportation Corridor Parking Lot Project as complete and <br /> authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. <br /> 2. Authorize the release of the retention in the amount of$139,856.27 to GradeTech, <br /> Inc. 30 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the return of the project's balance of$239,031 back to the Miscellaneous <br /> CIP - General Fund (Fund 201). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Available funding for this project totaled $3,655,601, as outlined in Attachment 1. Final <br /> expenditures totaled $3,416,570, leaving a balance of$239,031. Staff recommends the <br /> project balance of$239,031 be returned to the Miscellaneous CIP - General Fund (Fund <br /> 201). <br />
