This compromise in
insulation has resulted in suboptimal working conditions, which is a significant safety
hazard that must be addressed promptly. A Request for Bids (RFB) for insulation
improvements for the mechanic shop was distributed. On August 28, 2023, Staff
conducted a mandatory pre-bid conference, which three potential contractors attended.
Of the three, only Wilson General Contractor Inc. submitted a bid proposal in the
amount of $184,781. Staff recommends entering into an agreement with Wilson General
Contractor, Inc. in the amount of$212,498, which includes a 15 percent contingency for
this project.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve and authorize the City Manager to enter into a Maintenance and Trade
Services Agreement with Wilson General Contractor Inc. in the amount of $212,498,
which includes a 15 percent contingency for the insulation improvements at the Public
Works mechanic shop.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Funding for building repairs is appropriated in the Facilities Renovation (Internal Service
Fund - 515).
