12 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> .::: <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON,. <br /> October 3, 2023 <br /> Public Works <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY VILLALOBOS & <br /> ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE ANNUAL CURB AND GUTTER FOR <br /> STREET RESURFACING PROJECT, CIP NO. 23509 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This annual project consisted of removing and replacing damaged concrete curbs, <br /> gutters, and sidewalks, as well as installing or reconstructing concrete pedestrian ramps <br /> in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on streets identified for <br /> resurfacing in the 2023 Street Maintenance Program. ADA ramps were installed where <br /> none existed and were replaced where they were out of compliance with current <br /> standards, as is required by law before street pavement work. The project was <br /> competitively bid and awarded to the low bidder, Villalobos & Associates, Inc., by the <br /> City Council on March 21 , 2023. Construction of the project is complete to the <br /> satisfaction of the Director of Public Works, and Staff recommends the City Council <br /> accept the project as complete. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the project as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br /> Completion. <br /> 2. Authorize release of the retention in the amount of$27,553 to Villalobos & <br /> Associates, Inc. 30 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the return of the project's balance of $194,216 to the Gas Tax fund <br /> balance (Fund 160). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Available funding for this project totaled $750,000, as outlined in Attachment 1, <br /> including $150,000 of Measured B Local Streets and Roads funding. Final expenditures <br /> totaled $555,784, leaving a balance of$194,216. Staff recommends the remaining <br /> $194,216 be returned to the Gas Tax fund balance (Fund 160). <br />
