ATTACHMENT 1 RESOLUTION NO. 23- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT AWARD FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY IN THE AMOUNT OF $39,100 WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) is administering the 2024 Traffic Records Improvement Project ("TRIP") that offers grant funds to reimburse law enforcement agencies to replace manual input databases with streamlined traffic collision database systems; and WHEREAS, this grant promotes data sharing, integrated traffic records systems and allows traffic engineers to utilize this data to pinpoint high-collision areas and identify crash trends; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has been approved for a grant of $39,100 to purchase a traffic crash reporting system to expedite traffic collision records processing and increase reporting efficiency in conjunction with TRIP between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1: Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to accept the OTS TRIP grant on the City's behalf and execute all related documents necessary to implement and secure payment. SECTION 2: Appropriates the grant funds to be spent within the current fiscal year, FY 2023/24. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a meeting held on October 3, 2023.
