Planning Commission Minutes Page 2 of 2 May 10, 2023 <br />4.Public Comment regarding items not listed on the agenda. <br />Chair Pace opened the public comment. There being no speakers, Chair Pace closed the public <br />comment. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND OTHER MATTERS <br />5.Housing Element Update Consider recommendation for adoption of amendments to the Adopted <br />2023-2031 (6th Cycle) Housing Element, and conforming amendments to the Land Use Element, in <br />response to comments from the State Department of Housing and Community Development <br />Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. PC-2023-09 recommending that City Council adopt a <br />General Plan amendment to update the Land Use Element and the Housing Element for the period <br />of 2023-2031 (6th Cycle) complying with State Housing Element law <br />Associate Planner Megan Campbell presented the item. <br />MOTION: It was m/s by Morgan/Gaidos to approve Item 5 as recommended. Motion passed by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners Gaidos, Jain, Mohan, Morgan, and Pace <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION/INFORMATION <br />6.Reports from Meetings Attended (e.g., Committee, Task Force, etc.) <br />Commissioner Jain reported attending a Bicycle Pedestrian and Trails Committee meeting and noted <br />the discussion of a proposed 15 mph speed limit for e-bikes. <br />7.Actions of the City Council <br />Acting Director Mike Tassano provided a brief overview of the items listed in the report. <br />8.Future Planning Calendar <br />Acting Director Tassano provided a brief overview of the item listed in the report. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />No items to report. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Chair Pace adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m. <br />__________________________________ <br />Estela Ramirez, Recording Secretary
