EXHIBIT A
Woodawd & Curran
LEAVING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
Pleasanton Turnout T-4 Booster Pump Station and Discharge Pipeline
Scope of Work for Design Services
August 1,2023
(REV01)
INTRODUCTION
City of Pleasanton(City) requested this scope of work and fee for the preparation of a design
package for the construction of a new potable water booster pump station and discharge piping at
the existing Turnout#4 (T-4) supplied from Zone 7 wholesaler. The City is looking for a turn-
key design that will be used to solicit construction bids.
In an effort to expedite construction, the City desires to pre-purchase the pumps, valves, and
enclosure (building) for a pre-packaged booster station. Based on this approach, Woodard&
Curran will solicit quotations from equipment suppliers for a packaged potable water booster
station to be directly purchased by the City. The pre-purchased pumps, valves, and enclosure
(building)will be procured with the goal of having the material delivered prior to construction.
The lead time for this material is 6 months, so the solicitation of quotations will be Woodard&
Curran's first task. The approved shop drawings will be included as an appendix to the
construction bid package.
SCOPE OF WORK:
• Evaluate temporary pump system proposed by Rain for Rent and confirm it will provide the
desired flow and pressure based on analysis of the pump and system curves. This effort will
require review of the proposed system modeling by Akel Engineering Group(AEG). Woodard&
Curran will coordinate with AEG on this task.
• Evaluate the existing turnout for compatibility with new booster pump station
o Review pipe layout at the facility
o Analyze electrical components including power, instrumentation, and lighting plans to
determine how the new pump station will align with the existing facility.
o Review existing turnout components including the following: electrical service, vaults,
automated valves, controllers, sump pumps, pressure transmitters, and lights.
• Design the new booster pump station. Woodard&Curran will coordinate with AEG on this effort
to obtain pump parameters and design data. Pump station first floor plan, roof plan, elevations
and sections are not included assuming pump manufacturer will provide.
• Design new turnout including new vaults, valves, piping, electrical, and control panel. Existing
turnout will remain in operation until new turnout is constructed.
• Modify fluoride building to add a new tank. Fluoride building floor plan, roof plan, elevations
and sections are not included in scope of work.
