The strategic plan also identifies specific monitoring activities within each
priority area for the City to measure progress over time. While the Economic
Development Division will lead implementation of the strategic plan, fully addressing the
priority areas delineated above will require staff to continue working across
departments, collaborating with local businesses, property owners, educational
institutions, workforce development agencies, regional agencies, and other
stakeholders.
EVC RECOMMENDATION
At key milestones during the strategic plan development process, the EVC received
updates and provided feedback. An overview of the initial findings was presented to the
EVC at its November 2022 meeting, followed by the draft Economic Profile Report and
overview of priority areas and implementation actions at its April 2023 meeting. The
EVC then participated in small working group sessions in May 2023 to provide feedback
on the draft priority areas and implementation actions. Finally, the EVC reviewed the
complete draft Economic Development Strategic Plan at its June 15, 2023, meeting and
recommends adoption by the City Council.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
isa damos Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin
Economic Development Manager Finance Director City Manager
Page 5 of 6
