Budget
This project is funded in the Pleasanton Cricket Pitch and Field Project, CIP No. 22795,
with a budget of$550,000. The total anticipated expenditures are $485,573, including
$42,000 for project contingency and $29,143 for design services and advertising. The
funding and anticipated project expenditures are detailed in Attachment 1.
Schedule
The start of construction is expected in early September after the completion of the last
major soccer tournament at Ken Mercer Sports Park and is anticipated to be completed
in October 2023. This will allow for the necessary grow-in period for the new grass while
the fields are typically rested for the winter so that the field is ready for play when the
park opens at the end of the rainy season in early 2024.
Maintenance and Programming
The cricket field will replace an existing baseball field, Hardball Field B, at Ken Mercer
Sports Park and is not expected to create additional maintenance requirements, except
for potential future repair of the wear pattern in the grass from the bowlers' pitch area.
Field use will be a combination of drop-in play and rental use programmed through the
City's Recreation Division and is anticipated to require minimal additional staff time to
manage.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
Adam Nelkie Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin
Interim Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Engineering
Attachments:
1.
