Training Premium Pay: Increase training premium pay from 15% to 25% of the <br /> Battalion Chief base rate of pay for Battalion Chiefs assigned to a 40-hour work- <br /> week as the Training Chief. <br /> 5. Increase and Expand Battalion Chief Coverage Stipend: <br /> a. Effective June 10, 2023, increase the Battalion Chief Coverage stipend <br /> from $75 per hour to $83 per hour. <br /> b. Effective January 6, 2024, increase the Battalion Chief Coverage stipend <br /> from $83 per hour to $85 per hour. <br /> c. Effective January 4, 2025, increase the Battalion Chief Coverage stipend <br /> from $85 per hour to $86 per hour. <br /> d. Battalion Chief Coverage stipend pay is available when providing shift <br /> coverage for the 24-hour Battalion Chief in their absence, when <br /> performing Out of Class Work, or, when approved by the Fire Chief and/or <br /> designee, when assigned to participate in off-duty events greater than <br /> three (3) hours in a single day to conduct business outside their normal <br /> management roles and responsibilities. <br /> 6. Out of Class Work — The City and the Union have agreed to a one (1) year trial <br /> period that allows Battalion Chiefs to fill vacancies in the rank of Fire Captain to <br /> assist in preventing mandatory shift fill, provided all vacancies in the Battalion <br /> Chief position have been filled. <br /> 7. Uniform Allowance: Increase annual uniform allowance from $800 to $1,000. <br /> 8. Vacation Accumulation and Scheduling: Increase vacation accruals from a <br /> maximum of four hundred (400) hours to four hundred and thirty-two (432) hours. <br /> All vacation requests and use require approval by the Fire Chief and/or designee. <br /> 9. Long Term Disability Pay: Increase maximum contribution to $29.50 per month <br /> (currently covers 100% of benefit) and pay for premium increases during term of <br /> MOU (capped at $40 per month). <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> This report introduces the key elements of the MOU with the International Association of <br /> Fire Fighters, Local 1974 Battalion Chiefs Unit, representing Battalion Chiefs fire <br /> management personnel of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. All agreements <br /> reached between the parties during the meet and confer process are tentative until the <br /> contract, in its entirety, is ratified by members of IAFF-Battalion Chiefs and approved by <br /> the City Councils of both Livermore and Pleasanton. It is the City of Pleasanton's <br /> practice to introduce the key elements of the proposed contract to allow for open <br /> discussion prior to Council action at a future meeting. <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br />
