It is
troubling to me that an agreement hasn't been made with the PPD for their salaries to be on par with
neighboring agencies. It is even more troubling that they are having to lower their standards to hire
new officers because our pay is lower than other city police departments. For the 30+ years that I
have lived here, Pleasanton has been known for their high public safety record with top notch police
officers. I shudder to think what our department and safety record will look like with officers that don't
meet the standards our department has set for the last several decades.
Additionally, clean water is an absolute necessity for our residents. While projects that maintain
historical buildings and recreation projects are great for kids and teenagers, these top two priorities
for the residents of Pleasanton, I feel, must come first. Please listen to the residents and have
--another discussion on Tuesday night before voting on the budget. I thank you in advance and
appreciate all you do for the great city of Pleasanton.
Respectfully,
1
