BACKGROUND
The City has used an as-needed pavement line marker and street sign installation
services contract to complete some of the larger pavement marking and signage work
within the city for the past 18 years, as using an as-needed contract for larger projects
allows for cost savings. Womack Striping has worked as an as-needed provider with the
City previously and has performed the work quickly and professionally.
DISCUSSION
The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for providing as-needed pavement line
marker and sign installation services. Two proposals were received from Womack
Striping and Chrisp Company. As outlined in the RFP, the proposer with the lowest
responsive and responsible proposal would be awarded this as-needed pavement
striping and signage contract. The RFP required contractors to provide pricing for
common work requests and to provide quotes for three sample jobs. Womack Striping
was the lowest responsive and responsible proposer (see Attachment 1 for price
comparisons; lowest prices are shaded). Womack Striping has served as the City's as-
needed pavement striping and signage contractor for the past 10 years and has
consistently met expectations for both quality of work and quick completion times.
The term of the proposed contract is two years, expiring on June 30, 2025, with the
option of extending the contract for three additional one-year terms, upon agreement of
the City and the contractor.
.. itte. by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
Ellen Clark Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachments:
1.
