involved in the services, including all relevant information reasonably available to the City
<br /> concerning the chemical composition,physical characteristics, quantity,toxicity, or
<br /> potentially hazardous properties of the wastes. The City warrants that it has communicated
<br /> to the Contractor those hazards and risks known or learned by the City to be incident to the
<br /> handling, storage,treatment,transportation, and disposal of the wastes.
<br /> 1. Typical Types of Activities•Performed under this contractindude.
<br /> • Semi-annual collection of routinely generated hazardous wastes
<br /> from the Operations Service Center located at 3333 Busch Rd in
<br /> Pleasanton
<br /> • Hazardous, non-hazardous, or unknown waste sampling,
<br /> characterization, profiling, packaging,transport, and disposal
<br /> (this includes preparation of profiles,manifests,and land disposal
<br /> restriction (LDR) notification/certification forms as necessary)
<br /> • Routine collection and proper disposal of universal waste (including
<br /> lithium batteries)and electronic waste,asbestos cement pipe, and
<br /> other special wastes
<br /> • As-needed Facility/Equipment cleaning and decontamination,
<br /> including bulk chemical storage tanks, wash rack sumps,
<br /> containment sumps and associated piping, and proper disposal of the
<br /> resultant wastes
<br /> • As-needed Nonemergency projects such as closure,
<br /> decontamination,transport,and disposal of wastes from homeless
<br /> encampments located around and/or potentially contaminating
<br /> waterways
<br /> • Emergency response that requires rapid mobilization of equipment
<br /> within two hours of notification. Types of responses include, but
<br /> are not limited to, responding to water treatment chemical
<br /> releases, sludge releases, cleanup of hydraulic hose leaks, and
<br /> discharges of water treatment chemicals into waterbodies
<br /> • As Needed Transport and disposal of Treated Wood Waste to disposal to a
<br /> RWQCB-approved landfill
<br /> • As-needed consultation and guidance to ESD staff on reporting and/or
<br /> regulatory compliance management,per federal, state EPA,DTSC,and RCRA
<br /> requirements
<br /> 2. Mobilization and Packaging
<br /> The Contractor will mobilize appropriately qualified personnel and equipment to the
<br /> site as needed for each scheduled hazardous waste removal event. This task will include
<br /> Contractor providing all personnel, materials,tools, and equipment necessary for the
<br /> handling, packaging, and transportation of the waste. Typical tasks may include lab-
<br /> packing, loose packing,bulking of waste and/or pumping waste oil or oily water into a
<br /> vacuum tanker. An area at OSC will be provided for staging and packaging operations.
<br /> All packaging, manifesting, labeling, marking, and placarding will be performed in full
