I believe that Pleasanton must join other cities to stand up to state overreach, and that supporting this initiative is a small but important step in that direction. The state government has been increasingly encroaching on the rights of local governments in recent years. This is a trend that is harmful to our communities, as it takes away our ability to make decisions that are best for our own residents. The Our Neighborhood Voices Initiative would amend the state constitution to give local governments more authority over land use and development. This would be a major step towards restoring local control and giving our communities a voice in the future of our city. urge you to support this important initiative.
