Solutions: Encourage people to Save by setting a target,
not by pocketing their savings
• Set increased water rates for usage over and above residents 2020 baseline or increase fixed water meter charge
• It is de. jlI, o charge someone for what they do not use, saying
• If you used less, you will "pay the same"(while we pocket your savings)
• If you used even less, you could "save" more, while we make more, because we charge you more, for every reduced unit you douse
• Do not divert citizen's savings on water into tripling Pleasanton City variable water budget
• Scale back projects (aka reduce budget)to match revenue(if there is indeed a shortfall)
• Above 15% revenue "loss" shown is at Zone7's inflated rate (Pleasanton should pass through both Increases and Savings)
• Zone 7 will also hit us separately for the 15%decrease in their revenue and seek to recover"their" lost money. It will be a "food fight"
• We will have a double Whammy, two agencies charging us for the same missing water, that we never got nor used
• Water entities treat citizens variable water spending money as their "entitled" revenue, the size of which has to keeps
expanding year after year and any small decrease is improperly called a "loss" that HAS to be recovered.
• Please don't succumb to above and break that rate hike cycle
