SECTION VII (Continued) <br /> b. the need for the continuance arose after (a) the date the notice of public <br /> hearing was published, if the item is a public hearing item, or (b) the date the <br /> Council agenda was posted for an item for which a public hearing is not <br /> required. <br /> H. Protests <br /> Any Councilmember shall have the right to enter into the record reasons for opposing any <br /> motion carried by the majority. <br /> I. Motion to Reconsider <br /> Any member who voted with the majorityma move reconsideration of any action at the <br /> same meeting or at the next regular meeting, providing no legal rights have intervened to <br /> create an estoppel. A majority of the Council present must approve the motion to <br /> reconsider. After a motion for reconsideration has once been acted on, no other motion for <br /> reconsideration thereof shall be made without unanimous approval. <br /> J. Appeals <br /> Any Councilmember may appeal a decision of City staff or of any board or commission as <br /> provided in the Pleasanton Municipal Code. If a Councilmember appeals such a decision <br /> other than at a Council meeting, the Councilmember shall so inform staff by completing and <br /> submitting to staff an "Appeals" form. <br /> VIII. ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS. AND CONTRACTS <br /> A. Document Approval <br /> All ordinances, resolutions, and contracts shall be approved by the Council as to content, and <br /> as to form by the City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney, attested to by the City Clerk, and <br /> signed by the Mayor as to ordinances and by the City Manager as to contracts; provided, <br /> however, that contracts for certain public works projects and for certain professional <br /> consultants may be let without Council approval as provided in Chapter 3.28 and Chapter <br /> 3.32 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> rB.
