City of Pleasanton Capital Improvement Program • FY 2023/24 - FY 2026/27 84 <br />The police department vehicle fleet is anticipated to <br />increase by an additional 5 vehicles and the existing <br />parking area is at capacity. There are approximately <br />200 ambush-style attacks against law enforcement <br />each year in the U.S. In recent years, there has been <br />increased anti-police rhetoric and civil unrest both <br />locally and in surrounding communities. Secure park- <br />ing for Police Department staff and their personal ve- <br />hicles will assist in avoiding these attacks or allowing <br />officers’ personal vehicles to be identified and poten- <br />tially followed home from their place of employment. <br />Police Department Secured Police & Staff Vehicular Parking <br />Project Number: 23479 <br />Facilities <br />This project will construct secured parking around <br />the police department for the City’s police vehicles <br />and police staff parking.
