<br /> suspended and before the work

<br /> ~nsp~c~io~s ~1 C®~tficat~. Up-
<br /> on completion of the work
<br /> which has been authorized by
<br /> issuance of any permit, except
<br /> an annual permit, it shall be
<br /> the duty of the person, firm or
<br /> corpora'tion installing the same
<br /> to notify the Electrical Inspec-
<br /> tor, who shall inspect the in-
<br /> stallation within forty-eight,
<br /> (48) hours, exclusive of Satur-i
<br /> days, Sundays and Holidays, of i
<br /> the time such notice is given
<br /> or as soon thereafter as prac-i
<br /> ticable. .
<br /> Where the Electrical Inspector
<br /> finds the installation to be in
<br /> conformity with the provisions
<br /> of this Ordinance he shall is-
<br /> sue to the person, firm or cor-
<br /> poration making the installa-
<br /> tion a certificate of approval
<br /> authorizing the use of the in-
<br /> st~llation and connection to the
<br /> source of supply, and shall
<br /> send notice of ~uch authoriza-
<br /> tion to the electrical utility 3.01
<br /> furnishing the electric service. 3.02
<br /> If upon inspection the installs- 3.03
<br /> tion is not found to be fully in I 3.04
<br /> conformity with the provisions 3.05
<br /> of this Ordinance the Electrical [

<br />All defects shall be corrected
<br />within ten (10) days after in-
<br />' spection and notification, or

<br />When ~, certificate of approval
<br />is issued authorizing the con-
<br />nection and use of temporary 3.03
<br />work, such certficate shall be
<br />issued to expire at a time to
<br />be stated therein and shall be
<br />revocable by the Electrical In-
<br />spctor for cause. 3.04
<br />A preliminary certficate of ap-
<br />proval may be issued authoriz-
<br />ing the connection and use of
<br />certain specific portions of an
<br />incompleted installation; such 3.05
<br />certificate shall be revocable at
<br />the discretion of.the Electrical
<br />Inspector.
<br />When any part of a wiring in-
<br />stallation is to be hidden from
<br />view by the permanent place-
<br />meat of parts of the building,
<br />the person, firm or corporation 3.06
<br /> nstallin~ the wiring shall not-

<br /> such parts of the wiring instal-
<br /> lation shall not be concealed
<br /> until they have been inspected 3.07

<br /> wiring proceeds continuously, 3.08

<br />tile person, firm or corporation
<br />installing the wiring shall give
<br />the Electrical Inspector due
<br />notice and inspections shall be
<br />made periodically during the
<br />progress of the work. The Elec-
<br />trical Inspector shall have the
<br />power to remove, or require the
<br />removal of, any obstruction
<br />that prevents proper inspection
<br />of any electrical equipment.
<br />At lea~t once in each calendar
<br />month the Electrical Inspector
<br />shall visit all premises where
<br />work has been done under an-
<br />nual permits and shall inspect
<br />all electric wiring, devices, ap-
<br />pliances, and equipment install-
<br />ed under such a permit since
<br />the date of his last previous
<br />inspections, and shall issue a
<br />certificate of approval for suci~
<br />work as is found to be in con-
<br />formity with the provisions of!
<br />this Ordinance after the fee re- !
<br />quired by Section 2.08 has been'
<br />paid.
<br /> Con~sctton to Installation.
<br /> Except where work is done
<br />under Maintenance Electricians'
<br />permit it shall be unlawful for
<br />any person, firm or corporation
<br />to make connection from a
<br />source of electrical energy or
<br />to supply electric service to
<br />any electric wiring, devices, ap-
<br />pliances or equipment for the
<br />installation of which a permit
<br />is required, unless such person,
<br />firm or corporation shall have
<br />obtained a certLficate of ap-
<br />proval issued by the Elecrtical
<br />Inspector.
<br />It shall be unlawful for any
<br />person, firm or corporation to
<br />make connections from a
<br />source of electrical energy or
<br />to supply electric service to
<br />any electric wiring, devices, ap-
<br />pliances or equipment which
<br />has !been disconnected or order-
<br />ed to be disconnected by the
<br />Electrical Inspector or the use
<br />of which has been ordered by
<br />the Electrical Inspector to be
<br />disorrtinued until a certificate
<br />of approval ha~ been issued by
<br />him authorizing the reconnec-
<br />tion and uss of such wiring,
<br />devices, appliances or equip-
<br />ment. The Electrical Inspector
<br />shall notify the serving utility
<br />of such order to discontinue
<br />USe.

<br />Applicability of Article. The
<br />definitions contained in this
<br />Article shall govern the con-
<br />struction of this Ordinance un-
<br />less the contex~ is otherwise

<br />Approved. "Approved" means
<br />approved by the Electrical In-
<br />spector as to the equipment,
<br />etc., materials and methods of
<br />installation.
<br />Dwelling, -_~t-~le ~'amily. "Sin-
<br />gle Family Dwelling" shall
<br />mean a ~uilding designed for
<br />occupancy by one family ex-
<br />clusively.
<br />Electrical l'aspecto~. The "Elec-
<br />trical I~spector" i~ the Build-
<br />ing Offical of the City of
<br />Pleasanton, or his authorized
<br />representative. ,
<br />~Iec~ric~ml ~-quip~n~. "Electri-
<br />cal Equipment" means all wire,
<br />wiring, connections, appliances,
<br />devices, and apparatus used
<br />for or in connection with the
<br />transmission and use of elec-
<br />tricity for light, heat and
<br />power.
<br />· '.lectrical Work. "~-lec~ric~l
<br />Work" means and includes the
<br />installation, construction, main-
<br />tainance and repair of electri-
<br />cal equipment.
