6 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> = W., -°='1M"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON. <br /> May 16, 2023 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY ROSAS <br /> BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION FOR THE ANNUAL CURB AND GUTTER <br /> FOR STREET RESURFACING PROJECT, CIP NO. 22509 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This annual project consisted of removing and replacing damaged concrete curb and <br /> gutter and concrete sidewalk, as well as the installation or reconstruction of concrete <br /> Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian ramps on streets identified for <br /> resurfacing in the 2022 Street Maintenance Program. ADA ramps were installed where <br /> none existed and were replaced where they were significantly out of compliance with <br /> current standards, as is required by law before street pavement work. The project was <br /> competitively bid and awarded to the low bidder, Rosas Brothers Construction, by the <br /> City Council on March 15, 2022. Construction of the project is complete to the <br /> satisfaction of the Director of Engineering. It is recommended the City Council accept <br /> the project as complete. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Accept the project as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br /> Completion. <br /> 2. Authorize release of the retention in the amount of$33,059 to Rosas Brothers <br /> Construction 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the return of the project's balance of $31,259 to the Gas Tax fund <br /> balance. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Available funding for this project totaled $693,406 as outlined in Attachment 1. Final <br /> expenditures total $662,147, leaving a balance of$31 ,259. Staff recommends the <br /> remaining amount be returned to the Gas Tax fund balance. <br />
