9 | City of Pleasanton 2023-2031 Housing Element <br />Public Outreach and Events <br />Introductory Meetings <br />These meetings provided background information on the purpose of the Housing Element, <br />required components of the Housing, RHNA, the draft public participation plan, and contact <br />information for follow-up. It provided an opportunity to inform the community about the project and <br />solicit input at the project outset. <br /> Planning Commission: May 12, 2021 <br /> Housing Commission: May 13, 2021 <br /> City Council: May 18, 2021 <br /> Community Meeting: June 24, 2021 <br />Stakeholder Meetings <br />Stakeholder meetings were held to gain greater insight into the highest priority housing <br />considerations from the perspective of various stakeholders, including housing developers, <br />housing advocates and service providers, and local businesses and employers. This enabled the <br />City to better understand local challenges and opportunities that may not be effectively gathered <br />in a larger group setting. Stakeholder discussions were guided by open-ended questions about <br />fair housing issues, market characteristics, development constraints, and housing needs. <br /> For- and Non-Profit Housing Developers: August 10, 2021 <br /> Community and Housing Advocates: August 12, 2021 <br /> Local Institutions and Businesses: August 24, 2021 <br />Sites Criteria Meetings <br />The sites criteria meetings provided an opportunity for the community and elected and appointed <br />officials to provide feedback on the sites selection process and evaluation criteria (e.g., proximity <br />to transportation, proximity to services and amenities, property owner interest in developing site <br />for residential use, etc.). <br /> Housing Commission: August 24, 2021 <br /> Planning Commission: August 25, 2021 <br /> City Council: September 21, 2021 <br />Preliminary Report Meetings <br />The Preliminary Report meetings provided opportunities for community feedback on technical <br />components of the Housing Element prior to preparation of the updated Housing Element goals, <br />policies, and programs. These meetings included discussion regarding the 5th Cycle Housing <br />Element policy and programs review, housing needs assessment, housing constraints analysis, <br />and housing resources.
