Alleys <br /> PL <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> o <br /> M r <br /> M <br /> E <br /> alley <br /> QL a <br /> 4' r 20' 4' <br /> min min <br /> 28' 10 <br /> Note:26'clear alley required for development greater than 30'in height <br /> Fig. 98: Alley Design Standards <br /> Design Standards <br /> Multifamily Development <br /> A5.1 Where provided,private Alleys shall provide a minimum of 28 feet clear between opposite <br /> building faces. <br /> A5.2 Where provided,private Alleys shall provide a minimum four-foot-deep planting strip between <br /> the face of building and back of curb adjacent to garages.These planting strips can encroach in <br /> the 28 feet clear minimum dimension between the two opposite buildings. <br /> A5.3 Garage doors shall be recessed at least two feet from the building streetwall along an alley. <br /> A5.4 A proposed dead-end Alley exceeding 150 feet in length shall not contain underground utilities <br /> but shall provide a minimum of 20 feet of clear width and comply with the turnaround <br /> provisions required by the California Fire Code. <br /> A5.5 Public utilities should be located in Streets instead of Alleys(see Guideline A.3a). If it is <br /> necessary to place public utilities in Alleys,a continuous Public Service Easement not to exceed <br /> six feet in width shall be provided for the length of the Alley, or ten feet in width when <br /> dedicated as part of a subdivision. <br /> City of Pleasanton -35- Adopted January 26, 2023 <br />
