There being no speaker's Chair Coleman-Knight <br /> closed public comment. <br /> MATTERS FOR THE COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION / INFORMATION <br /> 4. Provide a Recommendation to the City Council to Adopt the Draft Council Priorities <br /> for Fiscal Year 2023-24 and Receive an Overview of the Citywide Strategic Plan <br /> Project <br /> Recommendation: Provide a recommendation to the City Council to Adopt the Draft Council <br /> Priorities for fiscal year 2023-24 and receive an over4view of the citywide Strategic Plan Project. <br /> The item was presented to the commission by Becky Hopkins, Assistant to the City Manager. <br /> After presentation of the item Ms. Hopkins answered questions from commissioners on the draft <br /> council priorities and the citywide strategic plan priorities noting that the commission was being <br /> requested to provide a recommendation to city council on the adoption of the Draft Council <br /> Priorities for Fiscal Year 2023-24. Commissioners expressed their concerns on making a <br /> recommendation on priorities they were unfamiliar with and that did not relate to civic arts. <br /> Motion: It was m/s by Simmons/Giancola recommending City Council adopt the draft Council <br /> priorities for fiscal year 2023-24. The motion failed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Commissioners Baiocchi, Giancola and Simmons. <br /> Noes: Commissioner Yee and Chair Coleman-Knight <br /> Abstain: Commissioners Farley-Rodgers, Mundaden, and Song. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> Chair Coleman-Knight thanked Ms. Hopkins for her presentation and providing valuable <br /> information to the commission. <br /> 5. Review and Allocate Community Grant Funds in the Civic Arts Category for Fiscal <br /> Year 2023/24 <br /> Recommendation: Review and allocate community grant funds in the civic arts category for <br /> fiscal year 2023/24. <br /> Indicating her financial association with several of the applicants, Commissioner Giancola <br /> recused herself from this item and left the meeting at 6:41 p.m. <br /> Chair Coleman-Knight provided the following statement: <br /> Civic Arts Commission Meeting Minutes Page 2 March 6,2023 <br />
