EXHIBIT A <br /> Scope of Contractor's Services <br /> Contractor agrees to provide umpiring services to the City of Pleasanton, commencing <br /> April 18, 2023, and ending December 31, 2025. The parties may mutually agree to <br /> extend the term of this Agreement for up to two additional terms of 12 months each. <br /> These services are as follows: <br /> 1. To provide, select, train, and schedule umpires for adult softball league in accordance <br /> with game schedules determined by the Pleasanton Library and Recreation <br /> Department. <br /> 2. All comment forms submitted to the Contractor concerning the performance of an <br /> umpire shall be handled in a professional and timely manner by an appointed <br /> member of the Contractor. After review, the Contractor must report to the League <br /> Director regarding any proposed course of action. <br /> o If City staff is not satisfied with the performance of an umpire or in the way the <br /> umpire interacts with City staff or its customers, the City may request that the <br /> umpire no longer officiate City sponsored games. The Contractor agrees to <br /> honor that request, absent compelling reasons to do otherwise. <br /> 3. The Contractor will ensure umpires are prepared with a complete uniform and at the <br /> respective field to umpire no less than five minutes prior to game time. <br /> 4. If umpire(s) are not on the designated field and/or are not equipped to work by the <br /> advertised game, the City shall not be billed for the umpire who was deemed late <br /> and/or unprepared. <br /> 5. In the event of a first or last game cancellation, if the City is able to notify the <br /> Contractor of the first and/or last game cancellation(s) no later than noon on the day <br /> of the scheduled game(s), the City will not be charged for the umpire(s). <br /> 6. Umpires are to be evaluated once per season by the Contractor. A report of the <br /> evaluation may be requested by League Director at the conclusion of each season. <br /> 7. The Fieldhouse meeting room at the Ken Mercer Sports Park Softball Complex will <br /> be made available for training on a reservation basis. The Contractor will need to <br /> submit a request through the League Director. <br /> 8. The umpires used by the Contractor shall abide by all rules and regulations of the <br /> City's Library and Recreation Department. <br /> o The Contractor shall serve as the City's experts for all United States <br /> Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) rules and regulations. <br /> 9. The Contractor's head umpire for the City must attend meetings regarding softball <br /> league play/incidents at the request of the League Director. <br /> 4 <br />
