However, I am very concerned about the suggestion to do so. <br /> I very frequently hear all of you and residents complain about traffic volumes which will get worse as <br /> our city grows. This is the time to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists to encourage them to <br /> ride or walk to their destination, not reduce safety. <br /> I ride my bike to the farmers market, to the grocery store and to the gym. But, being retired, I can do <br /> it during of off peak traffic hours. It is often scary even then. When I need to be somewhere during <br /> peak traffic hours I get into my car and drive - exacerbating the traffic problem. The last four years of <br /> my working life I worked exactly 1 mile from work. I always drove because it was too dangerous to <br /> ride my bike. <br /> i <br />
