Staff recommends continued financial support for this program. <br /> <br />Goodness Village / Tiny Home Community <br />Goodness Village has requested $57,720 for its Tiny Home Community in Livermore that <br />currently provides supportive and permanent housing options that assist 28 chronically <br />homeless individuals, seven (7) of which are Pleasanton residents, to transition into <br />permanent housing. Staff recommends continued financial support of $40,000 for FY <br />2023/24 for this program operating in its second year. Goodness Village has been able to <br />secure more than $1.3 million in grant funding, including $1 million Community Project <br />Funding from U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell’s Office. <br /> <br />Habitat for Humanity / Housing Rehabilitation Program <br />Habitat for Humanity (Habitat), the City’s Housing Rehabilitation Program administrator, has <br />requested $80,000 to provide critical home repairs paid for by grants or loans from the City to <br />income-eligible Pleasanton homeowners who are cost-burdened and economically <br />vulnerable. <br /> <br />Tri-Valley REACH / Seismic Retrofit Tanager <br />Tri-Valley REACH owns/leases and maintains 11 single-family homes located in Livermore <br />and Pleasanton that provide affordable housing to 34 low-income adults with developmental <br />disabilities. Of these 11 properties, the six (6) homes located in Pleasanton serve sixteen <br />(16) extremely low-income adults with developmental disabilities. Tri-Valley REACH has <br />applied for $40,000 address home repairs, improvements, and maintenance at the <br />Pleasanton homes. Staff recommends continued financial support for Tri-Valley REACH in <br />the amount $40,000 for FY 2023/24. <br /> <br />Human Services Commission Action <br />The Human Services Commission will be reviewing the majority of HHSG applications at a <br />Special Meeting on March 15, 2023. The agenda report and attachments from the HSC meeting <br />are included as Attachment 2. Minutes from the meeting were not yet available; however, the <br />HSC’s recommendation is summarized in Attachment 1. The HSC’s recommendation will be <br />forwarded to the City Council for review and final action (along with the HC’s recommendations) <br />on May 2, 2023. <br /> <br />March 16th Housing Commission Meeting Process <br />The Commission may request any or all of the agencies listed in Table 1 of this report to make <br />a presentation or answer any questions relating to their housing-related projects. After hearing <br />from the agencies and any other interested parties, the Commission will close the hearing, <br />discuss the applications, and formulate a funding recommendation for consideration by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The Commission’s recommendation is tentatively scheduled to be reviewed by the City Council <br />(along with the recommendation from the Human Services Commission regarding CDBG and <br />City General Funds) on May 2, 2023. At that time, it is expected the Council will adopt a <br />resolution approving the funding plan for the City's HHSG program (as well as Youth and Civic
