Stoneridge Residential Project <br />Preliminary Sewer Analysis Page 3 <br />Preliminary Sewer Analysis <br />The following calculations were prepared to size the onsite sewer system and approximate the <br />quantity of added sewage to the City of Pleasanton sewer system: <br /> <br />Project Data: <br />Total Site Area: 6.0 acres <br /># of Residential Units: 360 Units <br />Assumptions: <br />Family Members Per Unit: 3.2 (Per City of Pleasanton Code) <br />Average Per Capita Per Day Flow: 100 Gallons Per Day (Per City of Pleasanton Code) <br />Peak Design Flow Factor: 2.0 (Per City of Pleasanton Code) <br />City of Pleasanton Code Requirements: <br />• Designed to flow ¾ full <br />• Minimum Slope (For a 6” Pipe) is 0.5% <br />• Minimum velocity of 2 feet per second <br /> <br />Calculations for Project Site: <br />Sewer Load per Unit: (3.2 people) * (100gal/day) = 320 gal/day <br />Residential Sewer Load: (320 gal/day)*(360 units) = 115,200 gal/day <br />Peak Residential Load: (115,200 gal/day) * 2.0 = 230,400 gal/day <br /> <br />Analysis of 6” Sewer Pipe at 0.5% slope and 230,400 gal/day (See Attached Calculation): <br />• Normal Depth: 3.7” (49.0% Full < 75% Full) <br />• Velocity: 2.83 ft/s (> 2 ft/s) <br /> <br />Summary <br />The proposed 6” sewer line pipe is adequately sized to carry the peak flow rate for the proposed <br />residential units. <br />
