Re: Arborist Report for Stoneridge Shopping Center, 1008 Stoneridge Mall Rd, Pleasanton

Dear Matthew,

This arborist report addresses the proposed project on the Stoneridge Mall property, located at the
northwest corner of the intersection of Stoneridge Mall Rd & Stoneridge Mall Rd (project area
outlined on the Tree Preservation Plan). Per the City of Pleasanton’s Tree Preservation Ordinance
Chapter 17.16, the scope of work includes:
• Tag, identify and measure trees with a diameter of 6” or greater on or overhanging the
property.
• Note trees that are considered “Heritage” per city ordinance, defined as:
o Any single-trunked tree with a circumference of 55” or greater (17” in diameter),
measured 4.5’ above ground.
o Any multi-trunked trees of which the two largest trunks have a circumference of 55”
(17” diameter) or more.
o Any tree 35’ or more in height.
o Any tree of particular historical significance specially designated by official action.
o A stand of trees, the nature of which makes each dependent upon the other for
survival or the area’s natural beauty.
• Assess proposed improvements for potential encroachment.
• Based on proposed encroachment, tree health, structure, and species susceptibility, make
recommendations for preservation.
• Provide above information on a Tree Preservation Plan, to include: tag #s, approximate
dripline, whether a tree is removed or preserved, tree protection fencing locations, and tree
protection recommendations.
• Provide appraised values for all trees whose driplines will be encroached.

The 6/21/22 update includes appraised values for every tree per City request. One heritage (#148)
and one non-heritage tree (#217) will have been added to the removals list. The appraised values
are also totaled for trees to be retained and trees to be removed, and the information is also
reflected on an updated tree preservation plan.
