BACKGROUND
On June 20, 2019, the City Manager executed a maintenance agreement with Womack
Striping, Inc. to perform as-needed pavement striping and signage work within the city,
following a Request for Proposals (RFP) process. This agreement was established with
an initial term of two years, with an option for two one-year extensions.
In May 2021, the City Manager approved the first amendment to this agreement to
extend the contract by one year through June 30, 2022.
In September 2022, the City Manager approved the second amendment to this
agreement to extend the contract by one additional year, to expire on June 30, 2023,
and to increase the yearly maximum to $100,000.
DISCUSSION
Several projects that were paused during the pandemic are now underway and ready
for construction. These projects include the Stoneridge Drive protected bike lane, Bernal
Avenue at Hearst Drive/Clinton Place pedestrian improvements, and Valley Avenue
intersection improvements, which are included in the Pedestrian and Bicycle
Improvements at Various Locations Project (CIP No. 22543). Womack Striping, Inc. will
also complete some of the work for the West Las Positas "quick build" project that was
approved by the City Council in November 2022.
The contract maximum increase from $100,000 to $200,000 requires City Council
authorization. The increase to $200,000 will allow the City to deliver these projects in
this 2022/23 fiscal year.
Sub itted y", Fiscal Review: Approved by:
Ellen Clark Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachment:
1.
