Nicole Rodriguez
From: Ellen Holmgren
Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2023 2:39 PM
To: Cornell Holmes; Mayor and City Council
Cc: Pleasanton City Clerk; Ellen Clark; Pamela Ott; Melinda Denis; Shweta Bonn
Subject: RE: Stoneridge Mall Framework
Follow Up Flag: Follow up
Flag Status: Flagged
Dear Cornell & Pam Holmes,
Thank you for your email regarding Item 1 on the on the Special Meeting Notice and Agenda on Thursday, Jan.
26, 2023.
This email acknowledges receipt of your email to the Mayor and City Council, the City Manager, and City staff.
Thank you for your interest in the City of Pleasanton.
Regards,
Ellen Holmgren, Administrative Assistant
City of Pleasanton
From:Cornell Holmes
Sent:Tuesday,January 24, 2023 2:29 PM
To: Mayor and City Council<citycouncil@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject:Stoneridge Mall Framework
a You don't often get email from i why this is important
I am totally against more traffi,.on the Stoneridge, Foothill,Johnson Dr. footprint. Anything that will increase the
occupancy of vehicles in this area will make traffic problems a nightmare.
1.The increase of"Short Cut" commute traffic from people cutting through the city coming off 580 then down Foothill
Dr. then to Stoneridge Dr across Johnson Dr and further has impacted congestion. And they all are in the commute
"rage" speed limits trying to make stop lights. Plus the No. bound 680 freeway dumps traffic into the city onto
Stoneridge Dr.as well. With traffic getting onto 680 as too = it is a busy traffic area. This problem alone should have been
enough to vote Costco down. But didn't.Shame on you.
2. Plus that same area @ Stoneridge and Johnson Dr. is where the Sewer Farm allows free Recycled water to be picked
up. And I have seen that load up the 680 freeway No. bound off ramp. Sometimes it stops the flow of traffic, due to the
water Pick ups and trailers exiting onto Stoneridge Dr. where they are lined up from the off ramp to the entry way,
bumper to bumper to get into the Sewer Farm and continue to -wait their turn for opened loading spigots when
available.
3.The Costco traffic will be a nightmare when developed and open. Plus all the hotels, etc that are going up won't help.
Take a look at the existing Costco parking lots.Their parking acres are always filled with cars coming and leaving. This is
1
