Attachment 1 December 19,2022 • Pamela Ott DOWNTOWN Assistant City Manager ASSOCIATION City of Pleasanton Pleasanton,CA 94566 Dear Pamela, The Pleasanton Downtown Association's Board of Directors and staffjust completed a survey sent to the downtown businesses to receive their feedback concerning the 2023 First Weekends on Main closures. In addition,we asked if the PDA events meet the needs of the downtown businesses and the community. Based on the answers from our survey of professional businesses,restaurants,and retailers,the PDA recommends the following for the 2023 Weekends on Main. • The first weekend of each month,May through October,except for September 2023. PDA Board of Directors agreed at its September meeting to switch the weekend closure to coincide with the Amador Centennial Celebration,on September 15, 16,and 17, 2023. • Street closure continues from 4:00 pm Fridays and extends until 9:00 pm on Sundays • The PDA will provide programming on Saturdays to draw residents and increase visitors from the Tri-Valley,neighboring communities,and tourists. • The PDA will create exceptional advertising and marketing outreach consistent with print and digital messaging,emphasizing social media. • PDA will offer cross-promotion opportunities with restaurants&retailers,creating collaborative opportunities to work together by sustaining economic vitality downtown.
