CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 467 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ESTABLISHING CONNECTION CHARGES FOR THE <br /> PRIVILEGE OF CO~ECTING TO THE SANITARY <br /> SEWERAGE SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: DEFINITIONS. Whenever in this Ordinance the <br />words or phrases hereinafter in this section defined are used, <br />they shall have the respective meanings assigned to them in the <br />following definitions (unless in the given instance, the context <br />wherein they are used shall clearly import a different meaning): <br /> <br /> a. "Council" shall mean the City Council of the City <br />of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> b. "Dwelling Unit" shall mean and be held to include <br />any living area intended to be occupied principally by a separate <br />family including single family dwellings and the individual units <br />of duplexes, apartment houses, townhouses, resident hotels, flats <br />and mote is. <br /> <br /> c. "MObile Home" shall mean any structure intended to <br />be occupied principally by one family without necessarily being <br />divided into separate and distinct areas and so constructed as to <br />allow movement of the structure from place to place° <br /> <br /> d. "Commercial Building" shall mean any building <br />devoted principally to a use allowed by the Zoning Ordinance of <br />the City of Pleasanton in the commercially zoned areas in the City <br />of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> e. "Industrial Building" shall mean any building <br />devoted principally to a use allowed by the Zoning Ordinance of <br />the City of Pleasanton in the industrially zoned districts of the <br />City. <br /> <br /> f. "Customer" refers to any person, firm, corporation, <br />partnership or association who connects to the sewerage system <br />of the City of Pleasanton for the purpose of discharging waste <br />there in. <br /> <br /> g. "Bedroom" shall mean any room or area intended to be <br />or capable of being, used as separate sleeping quarters for one <br />or two persons. <br /> <br /> h. "B.O.D.", denoting Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand, shall <br />mean the quantity of oxygen utilized in the biochemical oxidation <br /> <br />at p in parts per million by weight. <br /> <br /> i. "Suspended Solids" shall mean solids that either <br />float on the surface of, or are in suspension in water, sewage, <br />or other liquids, and which are removable by laboratory filtration <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
