CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 466 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ESTABLISHING CONNECTION CHARGES FOR THE <br /> PRIVILEGE OF CONNECTING TO THE WATER SYSTEM <br /> OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND ESTABLISHING <br /> POLICIES FOR THE EXTENSION OF SUCH SYSTEM, <br /> INCLUDING DEVELOPERS ' OBLIGATIONS, MAIN <br /> EXTENSIONS, OVERSIZING AND REIMBURSEMENT <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: DEFINITIONS. Whenever in this Ordinance the <br />words or phrases hereinafter in this section defined are used, <br />they shall have the respective meanings assigned to them in the <br />following definitions (unless in the given instance, the context <br />wherein they are used shall clearly import a different meaning): <br /> <br /> a) "Council" shall mean the City Council of the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> b) "City" shall mean the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> c) "Developer" shall mean any individual, firm, corpora- <br /> tion, partnership, association or governmental agency <br /> other than City that installs any part of or connects <br /> any service to any point in the City water system for <br /> the purpose of extracting water from the City water <br /> system. <br /> <br /> d) "Water Facilities" shall mean all of the necessary <br /> component parts of a water system including pipe, <br /> fittings, valves and hydrants. <br /> <br /> e) "Transmission Main" shall mean any of the larger mains <br /> shown on the City Master Plan, or otherwise designated <br /> by the City, and which shall not normally have any <br /> service line directly attached. <br /> <br /> f) "Distribution Main" shall mean an intermediate main <br /> serving more than one developer or neighborhood, <br /> normally larger than 8 inches and smaller than 16 inche~' <br /> and to which service lines may be attached. <br /> <br /> g) "Local Main" shall mean a water line serving a single <br /> developer or neighborhood, normally 8 inches or smaller <br /> but may include larger sizes, to which all service <br /> lines are attached. <br /> <br /> h) "Service Line" shall mean the supply line extending <br /> from the Local or Distribution Main to the property <br /> line and includes the meter. <br /> <br /> i) "Service Connection" shall mean any connection on <br /> private property to a service line for the purpose of <br /> extracting water from the City water system. <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
