DRAFT Redlines Housing Element Section 4B Policy 5.3 Participate in local and regional efforts to combat homelessness in Pleasanton and work to effectively meet the needs of the city’s unhoused residents. Policy 5.4 Provide opportunities, including appropriately zoned sites, to accommodate housing that can assist with individuals’ transitions from homelessness, including Single Room Occupancy units (SROs), emergency shelter and transitional housing for unhoused residents. Policy 5.5 Support development and maintenance of affordable senior housing and supportive services to facilitate maximum independence and the ability of seniors to remain in their homes and/or the community. Policy 5.6 Encourage the development of residential units that are accessible to persons with disabilities or are adaptable for conversion to residential use by persons with disabilities. Programs Program 5.1 Support implementation of applicable recommendations of the 2021 Alameda County “Home Together 2026 Implementation Plan” and pursue development and adoption of a local or subregional (Tri-Valley) homeless strategic framework to complement the Countywide effort, that would incorporate strategies and programs tailored towards the specific needs of Pleasanton’s unhoused residents.
