DEI Project Experience
MGT's past work is eligible for piggybacking to ensure seamless procurement in a simplified manner for
our partners. The Piggybacking Clause allows for a public agency to use an existing public sector contract
as a template to form their own contract directly with the vendor as a means of solidifying a purchase for
similar work on similar terms. In this situation, your agency does not become a signatory to,or participate
in,the original contract but instead negotiates a new contract with the vendor based on the initial public
entity's contract. For the purposes of MGT's potential partnership with the City of Pleasanton, our project
with the County of Sacramento is the most aligned body of work that we recommend for your
consideration as the basis of a piggybacking contract.
MGT is one of the premier social impact firms in the country, conducting over 220 studies related to
diversity, equity, and inclusion for cities, counties, school districts, higher education institutions, and
non-profit organizations since 1990. Overall, these studies are designed to promote and advance access
and opportunity for organizations and their communities to improve the lives and economic outcomes of
all people. MGT has provided similar services in a variety of organizations as described below.
MGT is conducting a DEI audit for the City of Riverside (CA) to identify barriers to DEI and to
establish a strategic plan for enhancing equity and inclusion across the organization.
MGT's partnership with the County of Sacramento (CA) is designed to assess the state of
equity for employees and residents and craft a comprehensive action plan to improve
opportunity, access, and success for all people in a manner that reflects the County's
acknowledgement of racism as a public health crisis.
MGT conducted a Community Equity Profile for the County of Hillsborough (FL). Our public
engagement process resulted in more than 300 community members providing insight into
barriers across their community and suggestions for improvement. MGT created an Equity Lens
Decision guide to drive policy and practice decisions of county leaders and elected officials.
MGT's conducted a DEI assessment for Arapahoe County(CO)that consisted of extensive input
and ownership by key stakeholders who not only provided critical input but were led by MGT
in the collaborative design of DEI action plan for the County.
MGT's work with the City of Charlottesville (VA)following the unrest that put Charlottesville
in the national spotlight included data analysis from three different systems in the City and
County (Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, Offender AID and Restoration Pre-trial
Services, and local Circuit and General District Courts) to determine whether there were
disparities in the adult criminal justice system as well as the facilitation of a series of public
conversations.
♦**** MGT PAGE 3
